Can only dream of owning one of them, unless I join a target club (very expensive). Very difficult to get a big enough permission of ground to use one. Ive just a 597 semi auto in 22lr.....the one most people love to hate, but I love going against the ruger 10/22 lovers!

My pet hate, 10/22’s. Used a few and never had one perform well unless it was heavily modded.

Yup, and by the time you have it running well you've spent more than enough to buy something that works just as well for much less!

Yup, and by the time you have it running well you've spent more than enough to buy something that works just as well for much less!

I use a Brno mod2 22, bought it in ‘82 and its never missed a beat. Shoots any ammo you care to use, never jams!

I ended up buying a Sig522 when they came out and it's never really had any issues, subs or whatever you care to run through it it's happy. Must admit having a couple of the e-clips from the bolt come off but they're cheap to replace.

The key to keeping a semi auto happy in my opinion is good high velocity ammo

Cleanliness and hv ammo all helps but I like to be as quiet as I can be whilst out and about

Spot on, quite a nice bit of kit for the money, I really like the 10 shot magazine self loading system, I have 2 mags for it, to change it when empty just press a button on the top and it pops out, you still have to break the barrel to cock it but with a bit of practice its quite a quick operation.

I find it amusing how many toys some people get for their guns. Helped out with some roe culling and boy to those boys like to have lots of different bits of kit for high seat shooting (wouldn't really call it stalking). Massive generalisation of course. Rucksacks of kit and not more than a few hundred yards from the car normally.

Conversely my stalking consists of rifle, mod, scope, decent jacket and hat, decent wellies, binos and knife. Cos I don't fancy lugging more across several miles of Scottish Highland. Admittedly didn't skimp on those few things.

I try to take as little as possible whilst stalking, getting harder as the powers that be insist we take everthing bar the kitchen sink. The list is long- rifle, spare bullets, dog, knife, binos, thermal, gps, spot tracker, chain mail glove, latex gloves, first aid kit, large wound dressings, whistle, head torch, survival blanket, phone, hand cleaner( like they have in hospitals), wipes for cleaning the blade after gralloching, strobe and i’ll have missed out some stuff. When I first started stalking all you put in your pockets were your hands on cold days ! Now I need a large bum bag to carry all the stuff i’m told I require.

Nice looking air rifle, used one of these a couple of times at a range. The gun still moves a bit. Yours looks a nice job, reminds me I must make me a cleaning stand, and a rifle rack for the quad.

£1.50 that’s cheap, my 270 is £2 something a pop. Going green is costly! 130gr copper bullets, very accurate and hard hitting with minimal damage. Glad i don't pay for them

I think they were more interested in showing off how many different guns they had on the stand and dressing up as soldiers, one of them had at least 6 knives strapped about his person

That's what steel cased fmj is for most bang for your buck we get 50 308 for £25 and 50 223 for £20 only good for target but you won't be hunting with that thing
