RIP, my Makita

yes I have one and had it for over 4 years and still going strong I also just bought a new dewalt brushless drill with 2 batteries on offer from screwfix 149 quid .I got to admit its smaller and lighter than the Makita and its powerful and there's more impact. its far nicer to use .

They ain't half got some grunt them dewalt xr brushless drills. A friend of mine has shelled out on one from screwfix too and it's a little monster. Loads of screwdriving tourque too.

I have one of the black and white ones. Not as good as the old blue ones. But think they are made for screwfix etc.

Have a few makita bits to take same batteries. Generally good kit. My biggest annoyance is the number of very similar items with similar model numbers, very confusing when your trying to compare models.

Yeah this is the dilemma I had when upgrading my broken Bosch. Gsb, gsr, ve li, ve ec, etc etc. Had to do some reading before hitting the button.

the makita 18V lxt stuff is good tho its been about for a long while now. the black and white drills are light duity drills at the end of the day tho.

my old black and white thats still going is from 2007, i have a newer one same style as yours but it dosent sit as well in mits, the first black and white is the reason all my cordless kit is makita, other drills, grinder, screw rattler, 1/2" ratteler, circular saw, torch. but no where near as inpressed with the newer black and white for the money if just going for a drill id go eurboure

not very inpressed with milwakee drills had a habbit of burning trigger electronics out and bare tool cheeper than replacement part hence at work we have a heep of milwakee cordess drills that don't work and more anoyingly a load of good 18v battries and chargers and nothing to use them on

The m18 fuel drill is one of the best around imo.

there very good drills till the trigger goes i'll give them that, it might have something to do with what they get stuffed through on site or that anyone on site cant sharpen a drill bit to save themselves
