Rod inclination and heat

Is it true that the gas projected by the arc , are digging the base metal ? It is said on a video from S Biele ,

at 0:11 sec
That the gas are super heated and that this is what dig
that would mean that each rod have a more or less strong effect of gouging, as the arc air, but also explain wht DCEP digs more, as the gas are then projected with more force .(?)

BUt it seem more logical that the arc is digging (?)

I do not understand two vertical progressions de fig 23.1 and 26.1

Seem to me the rod is put out of the puddle a short moment then back at 90 deg

No pause with that fillet ? Only for the root / angle?

This is not whip and bead as a long arc is hold when the rod angle up.?

Just a mean to keep control of the heat all along?

PS I notice they propose small circles for horizontal and horizontal fillets . No hesitation/pause then?
