One part I am still looking for is a worm n wheel/quadrant to control/tilt the table, pivot point to wheel surface about 6 inches would be ideal.

Even a well made worm n wheel winch drum could be modified, if the drum is broken.

If anyone has anything like this sitting on a shelf, beer tokens could be exchanged...

Still off work, having another MRI Scan tomorrow to check on progress.

I have been advised to "Potter" by the surgeon so why not, potter in the workshop...

24 volt motor with built in worm n wheel gearbox driving a straight cut pinion gear (20Tooth-ish) on an extended output shaft, driving a 120 gear fitted to the table pivot shaft...photo's after the weekend hopefully.

I start machining the table pivot shaft, photos explain progress hopefully.

The next step is to fit the drive gear and table mounting plate to the shaft.

This morning I machined the clearance between the top bearing/drive gear and then checked the bearing housing gap to drive gear.

The gear was at least 6 inches off the concrete on the black/rusty housing, plus the concrete is well past its sell by date and water logged...its more likely to turn to dust, than fart.

Once had a fire burning wood pulled from a building renovation, it had been on the go for a week or so, rekindling it every day. One day I’d just managed to get it lit, when there was a massive boom, it lifted the slab [under the fire] and fire 2’ in the air. Quite amusing as it landed back down with barely a puff of smoke

I can imagine, I have heated many a ring gear in days gone by, I've fitted a few in some awful places and working conditions as a service engineer.

Well the trick to not blowing concrete is not to have the heat source or item your heating in direct contact with the concrete, always have spacer.

Today hopefully I will be finish machining the centre hole, then heating n shrinking the table mounting plate to the pivot shaft.

Part 5...

Finished off fitting the table mounting flange to the main shaft, shrink fit, welded (belt n braces) and then machined to be pretty.

I now have to machine the end plate to cover the bearing and secure the main shaft into the bearing housing.

Then I'll moving on the table support beam/box section.
