Id like to see some for a laugh at least
Must be something to do with exhausts... mate of mine went into an exhaust centre not that long ago, while waiting to leave his keys, he saw into the workshop, a car on a ramp, and one parked in the next bay across on the ground.
Matey was gassing something underneath the one on the ramp, all over the other car
He told them to stick it, and went elsewhere
been out to car today thought i would get a magnet as ss doesnt take a magnet and low and behold all the welds took the mag dont no if some ss or the lower grade stuff will any one have any feed back on this as i am speeking to the boss of the company on monday or tuesday so HELP

The welds on that exhaust look very much like they used mild steel wire to me (and to others that have posted here). Stainless is a lot more yellow and a lot less grey. Mild steel will attract a magnet.
The exhaust is probably 304 stainless and ought to have been welded (stretching my imagination here) with 308 filler wire which is not magnetic either.
Colour gives it away enough though. To me that's the important thing - the welds aren't as neat as a hobbyist like me would aim to achieve, but will likely hold together, but with mild steel wire the welds will corrode and fail before they would with the correct stainless wire. Which is just bad practice and they should know better if they make exhausts for a living.
Point the manager to this thread. Maybe he'll be willing to come along to clarify things. I'm sure he'll be grateful you haven't mentioned any company names along the way - good on you for that.

hi all thanks again for all the replys what i am geting back from the pros here is that ive been given a second rate job and i dont like the wool pulled over my eyes and someone giving me a product which was not the one specified at the start someones gona jump for this
I'm echoing what others have already stated, unfortunately it is a poor quality job. I'm guessing here, I imagine all the pipe, silencer boxes ect are all ready at hand, with jigs where required, a good tig welder will rattle an exhaust together in a time frame of 4 hours, including tacking up.

Thought you might like this as a comparison. First time i'd welded stainless with a MIG, I used proper Argon mix gas and a Clarke 151TE welder. I consider myself an alright hobby welder, but can't weld upside down or anything fancy, so not really very good. The welds were a bit dark with some form of slag after i'd done them so I zipped over them with a brass brush in a dremel - hence the yellow effect. It looks better than the welds in your pics...

I find it annoying when people act like that. Trading Standards would be worth working with on this one. You were promised something and didn't get it which is right in their yard. Might be more effective than Citizens advise who I'd expect would advise trading standards or the small claims court.
hiall not been on for while trying to get this zorst sorted got trading standards involved gaffey only just got intouch today
he says wants to see the welding with his own eyes to see what can be done and he thinks he is goin to fix it or make good .
i said to him it needs totally replacing so taking it back up on tuesday next week

hi all glad to back here as im a bearer of good news , trading standards and letters from my other half and all the info from this site produced a new full ss system and tig welded thank you all again for all the responce ,heres the pics let me now your views
