No bother mate, happy to be of serviceCheers
That is cheaper then the electronics store even with postage, so ordered 4.
Thanks

Using inch tube helps stop some of the flexing, but means the bearings are offset!
Not seen it yet.....lolVery well done
I am now inspired to build one
Simply put it means that, the centre of the bearings were note along the centre line of the tube but down the edge of the tube.Interesting findings with the linger tips etc I reckon I will cut through some extra prts if I was tracing. lol
Could you explain a little more about what you mean about inch tube but offsetting the bearings??
Regards Andy T
Accuracy can be better I guess it is all about making every thing line up with the pivot points including the torch and stylus. Using inch tube helps stop some of the flexing, but means the bearings are offset! I have just been looking in an electronics catalogue to find the style of connector so I can connect into the plasma switch without sticking wires in the pins, so that should make it safer. It has been fun and frustrating to get to this stage.

Ideally, though I am sure you know, the pivots and stylus/torch should be in the centre of the tube/arm. Torch and stylus should be easy enough but using a plate with a bush to allow the arms to pivot in the centre, and get close to fully overlapping, is a bit more work. Much easier with lolly sticks.
Brilliant job though, and much cheaper than CNC.
Forgive me for asking but what is a side by side copier???The centre of the tubes should be true but why not if I use the centre line of the bearings? That is what I did, the centres of the bearings are all the same distance and in theory, if I put the stylus on the same line and the torch on the same line then I assumed it would all match. Not saying it does, but my thinking was it should.
If doing again I would make a side by side copying frame. Just takes up more space when not in use.

Have a look at this youtube video and see what I mean, then make it a bit wider and apply a plasma cutter!
Adrian
i can now see how it works from the other video, is this not a lot harder to make? and more expensive?
