There was one a few years ago, I remember there being one just round the corner from where I was working, Trading estate along side the river, Same trading estate as J&S Marine.

Just watch out for ebay etc selections being 4.8 - ie slightly better than stiff cheese..

They’ll be rubbish Parm, you’ll end up using all of one size and then be left with a load you’ll never use. Buy some organiser boxes and make up your own with decent quality fasteners.

Plus of of those organiser boxes is essential, I’m sure I’ll have the required bolt somewhere, I just don’t know where !

I’ve ordered a load of bolts n screws as well as an organiser case

This has now turned out to be a very expensive single M4 bolt !

I was in a place today looking for a bolt for a neighbour, I thought it was imperial. The chap just beckoned me round the back where there wer literally hundreds of Linn bins, all beautifully labelled. It was 3/8" UNC (btw).

He told me if I gave him a list of sizes he could make it up in 10 mins or so .
Really handy to know a place like when the local ironmongers don't have the size for that job and the alternative is this chap at 80 miles for the round trip.

I needed some M6 bolts, button heads didnt look right and cap heads were too big.

I now have a selection of shallow head cap heads "just in case"

i just go down the local fasteners and ask for a handfull of everything and get a big bag for a tenner

With my local fastener suppliers, that would be a very expensive option. I went there for four small metric nuts and bolts - all my "stock" is imperial and I'd forgotten that some of the later revisions on the car were done with metric fasteners. Just under a five for four bolts and nuts, I forget the size but they were to hold the alternator pulley on to the water pump, so not massive. Trouble was, I wanted them straight away. No competition around here, though. Maybe if I got to know them there might be a secret "reasonable price" option, and perhaps if I used them more often I'd access it.

+1 for above, Oribtal or Fastco, cross check the prices as some are cheaper on certain items.

You will find you can get a bag of 100 for about the same it will cost you for 10 in a selection pack - if you have the space to store them it is much cheaper, and its not as if they don't keep forever and you will always find a use for them someday.
