What was the clean up with, electrolysis bath?

Yep, pretty much all electrolysis and then a light scrub with a soft wire brush to make it shine. All the bare parts have boiled linseed oil on them. It looks nice considering it's age

This is the Woden I picked up last week. Would have posted photo's earlier, but I've been feeling like crap for the last week. Back on the ball now though. It's a 186E/8.

A couple of shots next to the No.7 to show size.

Also picked this up the other week, thanks to CW. This is going to be a resto for the young 'un. Hopefully I can manage to keep his interest going this time around.

What a brilliant idea, no restriction to the depth of the material you need to hold.

So I went to the auction tonight but I didn't even get bidding on the woden vice, or wooden as it was listed in the catalogue . Bidding started at £20 and flew up until it finished at £45, with fees that's £53! Way too much for it, considering the state of the jaws and slide.

The vice does definitely say 190/s steel on it. Jaws are 4" wide, vice opens 4.75", jaw depth is 3.5".

I did buy an old home made compressor. It has a proper compressor tank on it but everything else is a collection of bits. The pump is a clayton dewandre, probably a vacuum pump of a lorry and it is belt driven from a huge brook parkinson motor. Paid £40 for it - the motor is worth that alone!

That's a cutey. Any idea what make the compressor unit is? Btw, you got a stonking deal on that Tri-Leva lathe. Those things tend to fetch silly money, from what I've seen.

Billy-No-Mates here has been out again today, picking something up too. It's a bit of a sad case, but dammit, it was cheap. Who could say no to that?

The leadscrew ball and QR lever look like they've been submerged, and the back end of the slide has seen some stick.
