I like how they've kept the leadscrew enclosed for as far as possible. Not a make I've ever heard of, Gressel. That's the first I've ever seen. It's an impressive looking piece of kit.
When you turn the handle, does the screw turn or is the screw stationary and the nut is built into the tube and that turns?
I don't see it. Looking at the picture, it looks like the screw is attached to the back jaw & does not turn and that tube has the nut in the end of it?Just reread that Maker. You may note a slight logic flaw in your question.
ouch !There's a 550 page PDF catalogue on that page, if you scroll right down to page 534, they have the rear sliding bench vice (All the other pages are really boring CNC machine vices).
GRESSEL PS 125-1
I found a price list PDF, it'll set you back £420 including VAT.

That's what I thought, it's a lot of money but it's not unreasonable.£420 is not bad for a quality vice like that I recently bought a new record no. 36 vice for work and paid over £900 for it and am not impressed by the quality.
They do a front sliding type with 160mm jaws but not a rear sliding.very nice taitsie I like it. the new gressel have done away with the dovetail they are now square as you can see from the earlier pics. they don't seem to do a 6" anymore the biggest they do is 125mm or 5"
If gressel was widely available in this country at that price who would buy a record?
I've got a 114, I have to say it's a fantastic bit of kit, it dwarfs my no6 record.I recently sold a record 114 and new they are about a grand. over priced in my view
