I've got the FD 300mm F4, I don't use it much (Partially as I got bored of photography again) but when I have taken it out, I've been really pleased with some of the pictures I've gotten with it. I've got an FD teleconverter too so I could use it at 600mm, but I don't think I've ever actually done it.

My camera has an FD mount so luckily I don't have to mess about with adapter kits.

I think it's a Tamron f4 but the old memory isn't great

I used to love the A series, I think I have or had them all, my favourite was the EF though, only Canon camera to use a 3rd party Copal shutter. Sadly both my examples developed a fault that I was unable to get repaired

If you are developing C41 yourself, I found to reduce dust you need to dry them slowly, although some film attracts it for fun

I probably have some lenses and bodies you can have if you like? I know I've still got a chrome ring 50mm F1.4

Yep all developed at home, and I'm in a flat share so I have to hang film to dry six feet away from my bed. :doh:

Good to know about slow drying, I might try re-washing some strips and seeing how the scans look afterwards.

If you've got old gear not being used I'd almost certainly be interested in it, dig it out and send me some pictures when you get a chance. I occasionally scroll eBay threatening to buy more lenses, or maybe a 120 body, but usually manage to restrain myself.

Try using a bit of b&w stop in the water, a lot of it has anti streak that helps with dust

I am now back using a Canon 7D, this is a pro level camera, with an aps-c sensor.
I had one that I bought new when they were current, it disappeared for a few years, turned out a "friend" had borrowed it, well she didn't look after it and it was filthy and had trouble communicating with the CF card.
A recent repair attempt ended with me selling it for parts.
(She also stole my 550D, an odd choice considering it was heavily modified and not ideal for general photography)

Fast forward to the purchase of this lens, the 5D shots are great but that's an elderly full frame camera, the 700D shots are better but I want more, more focus points, more faster AF, more buttons, more everything! I found a good used 7D on Wex, under 9k shutter actuations (20K is low on a pro body) It is originally from Japan so I was expecting to have to buy a UK charger. To my very pleasant surprise it came with a brand new boxed genuine charger and 2 genuine batteries, one of which also appears to be brand new, I also ordered a used genuine battery grip, all delivered to my door for £190

So, was it worth it? a bit of time getting reacquainted with it, and we have todays visitors below
