Slitting discs

Having bought a plasma cutter ( cheap cut 50 type) and not doing much welding fab for a good while now, just been grabbing a pack of slitting discs from Aldi now and then.....

Going to pick back up on my transit project soon, just replaced a water damaged clarke 100e with an autostar AS160 so Im after recommendations on cutting discs, getting excited to get back into it but changing discs every 10 mins is no fun
Cheap ones just turn to powder after a couple of feet, I think parweld where the last decent ones I bought, but I remember a few times I'd order parweld and a different vrand would turn up that where apparently the same.....
What's your recommendations? Fast cutting that last a decent time

living here very diff/far (2 hour drive) off to get anything from welding supplies.....
so u have to use DIY shops for rods and sometimes cutting disc's but they hardly ever have the extra thin ones and dont ask for st/steel disc's...
anyway
desperate for some 0.8 x125's and the only place was Lidil......
very plesantly suprised...
here jobbing welders dont buy boxes of rods.....most I ever saw bought was 10...!!!!!!!!!!!

These are surprisingly good quality for the cost. Sonnenflex are a German company owned by Pferd abrasives so a lot of their stuff is just Pferd products with a different name on them.

Obviously free is good, but these I think have the edge on the Pferd versions, they last really well. Maybe it's just me, I dunno.

These are about as good as you’ll get. I’ve tried a lot of different slitting discs, and these are best performers for me, this seems a very good price for them also!

In recent memory, the only disc I've had go bang on me, and detach from the mounting ring was a DeWalt 115mm slitting disc. Bought at S'fix only because they were on special and the company were paying, I thought I'd give them a try. Glad I was wearing full PPE. Gave the remaining 9 in the tin to my mate who's a DeWalt fanboy. (I did warn him). I quite like these Rhodius ones:

The Rhodius ones are pretty good, and seem to last a lot longer than the DeWalt ones!

Main thing is letting the disc cut - very easy to force them through, but destroy them in double quick time.

If you pay for your own, soon learn to not lean on them

Haven't tried these yet but his 6mm grinding discs are superb.

Find they take a fair bit more abuse than the 0.8s.

If overlaying car panels for MIG isn't 0.8mm a better gap/disc thickness?

I've some (old caravan) aluminium sheet to slice up soon. Is there a particular type of disc best for non ferrous?

I've often used my Diamond Bort tungsten & diamond chip impregnated concrete & rebar cutting disc on my 4 " angle grinder , in fact I used it this afternoon to cut some 3 mm thick mild steel , , don't know what it will do to car plate but could be worth while for you as it was about £14 IIRC several years ago and has cut a heck of a lot of steel up to 3.5 mm , thick & thin mild steel tube , concrete , paviors , slabs , concrete rebar , stainless steel bar & rod , aluminium , brass & phosphor bronze

I need to salvage two pieces exactly 4'x3' from the caravan sides. (Basically a giant "canvas" for the youngest and her arty mates to have a crack at a pub sign). I'll cut it and etch prime then let her loose on it.

The ideal cut edge would be as made by a guillotine but I don't have one. Best I can do is clamp in a bit of handle and cut against that but what disc?
