Small jet flame lighter

I need a decent one, recommendations please. I often use them for melting/sealing rope ends and all kinds of things, I dont smoke. Currently using clipper ones but they dont last, plenty of gas in them but no longer light up. I think they overheat if used for more than a few seconds...

What about one of those mini blow torch things that people use for doing desert topping?

The gas tank on them will be less of an irritating size, and they also stand up by themselves.

I use one of these, may not be suitable if you are doing lots at a time but I find mine more than adequate for occasional use.

I have a similar Lidl cordless soldering iron that you can fill with butane but I wouldn't recommend it. Hard to light and quite a faff. I usually really rate Lidl stuff but this was a disappointment.

I had an Iroda gas "soldering" set when we had a boat - it came with a hot knife that was excellent for trimming rope ends; a tip that generated flame-free hot air for heat-shrink, and a small blowlamp tip (as well as an actual soldering tip). Very handy.

It was similar to / might have been the Solderpro-70:

I used to have the smaller pro-50 which was quite good. The lack of a piezeo igniter, cost of it and the size are the problem. I still have the old tips. Mine must be over 20 years old, and it broke perhaps 10 years ago when the plastic snapped or something.

Coincidence I just melted the ends of a bit of nylon string to tie the tank on my motorbike back.

I used the pound shop lighter that lives on the gas cylinder at the bottom of the garden.
The lighter might well be 10 years old. I bought a pack, a few lighters and couple of gas stove lighters for a quid.
Looks like there is loads of gas left in that one.

i have one multi use ,good for singing the hairs out of your lugholes as well

Im tempted by another solderpro 50 or the cheaper import version however, Id prefer something smaller and cheaper - to keep one at home, shed, car, climbing kit etc..

These clipper things are what I've been using and would be great if they lasted more than 30 seconds (not out of gas I have refilled them)

I have a VVAY tripple flame pocket lighter my brother bought me about 3 Christmases ago. It's been excellent for heat shrink and melting the ends of straps and ropes, even removing hanging threads!
It goes everywhere with me!!
