About as suitable for my use as it would be for a smoker lighting up, and a lighter would still be needed to ignite it. Far too powerful for melting rope ends. I also have 4 proper blow torches already.just buy one of these and use as a normal blow lamp
fits normal butane catridges at 5.00 yet lasts ages
