the thinner is almost certainly butoxyethanol, also known as glycol ether.
one brand name is "cellosolve" by Dow chemicals, who will have a big technical department somewhere (possibly the states)
do you happen to know the brand/source of the mixing cups which work? do they have a recycling arrow stamped on them ? which would give an idea of the sort of plastic used.
a quick Google suggests that disposable mixing cups are polypropylene, but I can't find anything online about whether it is affected by these thinners.
I never worked with screen printing inks - they were a very small part of my office's work and it was left to my day-time counterpart, so sorry I can't help further.
