Small rechargeable vacuum cleaner?

Fed up with hauling the corded thing about, and the hideously expensive bags- the budget ones come away from their front bit and, aarrgh, I have to take the thing to bits and take it for compressor therapy......

Just not a Dyson, for personal reasons I do not wish to contribute to his profits!

The little Dysons are dire. Constantly need filters cleaned and the batteries are short lived. I’m always getting asked to do them for folk.

What make is your power tool set? Most do a hand held, which should be cheaper than buying the whole set (tool/battery/charger)

...unless it's Milwaukee.

I have M18. Their previous vacs have (according to the reviews and my opinion) not been worth buying. But they've recently released one that I do want.

It's "only" £200. For the bare tool.

Hence why I "want" it, rather than "have" it!

I bought a Beldray for about £100 a few months ago and it's been good. It's more of an upright but you can use the top as a hand held

Interesting idea, but I have the wet/dry 18v professional vac. It's quite big and effective but the battery life with a 5ah battery is dire! It's given me the idea to go out to the workshop and see if a bigger one would fit under the cover?

I'd snap your hand off, but getting it to Portugal is now a customs nightmare- even small things engage the whole system, and you (may) get them months later with a substantial bill.

How amazing is that! We're below Mertola on the Rio Guadiana right on the border with Spain- I can see the bridge from my terrace, but it's south of your track towards Huelva.

I spent £100 on an Einhell cordless. It just doesn't suck well enough, it was a waste of money. Maybe a brushless cordless would be better.

Yep, that's the one I want buy don't have.

Vacs and pressure washers are a tool that I keep trying other brands of, but, in the end, they just don't last.

I've kind of decided that I'm going to "try" not to take shortcuts on either any more, as I've added enough to plastic landfill with both already.


(We have a number of Henrys here now which last and when I can I'll buy a kranzel washer)

I tend to be the same with everything, nowadays. Not necessarily because any of the cheaper things I've had have been bad, but rather because dearer equipment is generally more refined, & nicer to use.

I think it all depends on what you need one for.

If you live in town and never go anywhere dirty then a battery vacuum will probably be just fine . If you live in the countryside and have dogs then they are not a replacement. We have an M18 and it works well for those "lets quickly suck up that dirt of someones boots or get that cobweb" but it is not viable as a full time unit for use anyway. This is the one we have and as a convenience tool it works fine.

In my experience they are nearly always disappointing, the Dewalt one used to claim it could suck up an entire bag of cement on a one battery but the performance was average at best
