Just looked back at the history of your faulty machine......
Don't think you will get much of a reading that makes much sense from the windings of the transformer and if it was failing it would have fried by now !
I believe you have an intermittent poor connection on the high current side (welding voltage).
Looking at the pic attached, if your undo these connections marked "X" and clean the connection made in the loop of copper wire AND the point they secure/connect to using a small file to get a clean metal look and then apply some vaseline to the clean connection. NOTE some of the fittings will have insulating spacers/bushes, make sure these go back in the correct order. Also where the work ground clamp lead enters the machine and attaches to lead going to rectifier, this may also have a connector to be remade/cleaned. Where the thick cable goes through to the wire feed motor/roller area this will be another connection to check.
When you switch between power levels (without trigger pulled) you should NOT get a clunk/thump ! This is the contactor pulling in and if you are getting it thump when switching it could be that the contactor is always pulled in (due to fault on pcb ?) and when you are switching it temporarily drops out as the switches break before make. This should not cause a problem but does mean the coil of the contactor is constantly energized while welder is powered on! To check if this is so you unplug welder then watch the plunger (shown in pic) to see if it pulls in when power is reconnected and machine switched on.
Cheers, from pic in there I fitted it with the same orientation.
You know what it's like. When not welding no good reason to buy one ready for the warranty to expire when sitting, and when needed no time to go research and make a good choice.Still out there then ..
