it is designed to go open circuit on the feed to the max/min switch effectively cutting power to the welder, but allowing the fan to continue to cool.

Kills everything but the fan.
still think it's either the relay on the pcb or the contactor

UPDATE

Thermistor/thermostat is fine.

Contactor is dead. Tested it with straight 240v feed, still din't work.

Currently looking to see if the contactor is repairable. Looks like the induction coil is knackered though.

Which bit needs to be 20A? Is that 12A (in bold) ok?

If you get a 3 phase contactor, each phase will need to be 1/3 of the total welding current.

therefore for a 3way you will need at least 45A per contact.

the aux is not needed but if you get no that will also help if you get a euro conversion.
obviously 230V trigger.

don't forget they are quoting 400v for the total power, you are only using 30v.

130A * 400V = 52 KW @ 400V so something rated bigger than that.

you are not going to use the contactor for the voltage it was designed for, but less voltage is ok, as you won't find a 50V rated one.

Somebody is giving me one for nowt. It's 230v coil and 7.5kw rated.

They say it will be more than sufficient.

All fixed. It was the contactor. Someobody gave me one for free so it was a cheap fix. I also fitted a new shroud , trigger mechanism and tip. Now to fine tune the thing.
