wondered if anyone has any operating info or service manual etc ..finding nothing on google

Thats a blast from the past, there is not a lot to them. Filters are still available from the snapon maninavan, from memory leave it running in the room for a minute before you zero it and away you go. I will dig through my oddsnsods to see if I have any filters left over.

Mine was like that, until I complained to someone in the US he wouldn’t swap or repair a 1/4 drive ratchet

Nothing wrong with them for just checking Co at idle Steve,don’t rev the engine with the snoob tube in because they take forever to climb back down. The only reason I got rid of mine was a mate gives me all his old equipment from his testing station when they upgrade.Have now got a four gas with print out which eats up space and sits doing sod all because most of my vehicles are diesel.

We had one of those (maninvan)@steveo3002 @Kayos Refused to replace 2 worn sockets! Same as you K we complained to UK head office don't know what the result is as when they said we will send him or a manager round we said no, they must bread them to destroy good will
We returned to HQ to be replaced by return, they lost the good will of 3 company's
It was not the first problem with MIV another said he could not get a 7/32 1/4 ring no stock in UK 6 month + lead time
UK HQ shipped delivered from within 24 hours

Ring email Snap On customer service. I've always found them to be more than willing to email instructions/parts lists.

You don't need to go through the vans you can order direct.

Out of interest how much money had you put his way before that point? I good tip if you are not a regular spender on the van is to give it to someone who is and get them to get it repaired/replaced.

Snap On terms and conditons are quite clear in that the warranty is Lifetime from the point of purchase as long as you own the tool so technically buying a secondhand tool does not entitle you to a lifetime warranty.

A few hundred, not loads but not nothing. Ratchet originally supplied by someone who retired and he was the local van

right got the machine delivered

pump runs and the display lights up....i can tweak it down to 0 on the adjuster but its flickering up and down a fair bit , any ideas ?

how long should i let it warm up ?

the filter looks like cloth with a rubber coating on the front does that sound right?

edit- pump purrs away but i dont feel any suction if i hold a bit of cellopahne near the inlet?

I’ve not worked on one of these particular analysers, but used to calibrate 4 gas analysers for MOT stations. Warm up time on older analysers could be anything up to 30 minutes. During this time, the readings can fluctuate all over the place. If the readings are not stable after the warm up period, try running it (fresh air only)without the paper filters in as they can get impregnated with hydro-carbons. If the readings are still unstable, then it’s likely that the infra red gas bench has been flooded at some point. On some makes, it is possible to salvage a previously flooded bench by stripping it down and carefully cleaning out the gas sample tube and the i/r source and filters.

Shouldn’t need to settle after moving, just allow the warm up period to finish.
It might be worth while taking the cover off the machine and having a close look at the clear pipes inside, see if you can see any water residue marks or staining.

tried it again today , seems more stable after 6 mins or so , adjust it to 0 and it maybe flickers 0.1 %

had the back off it ...isnt much to it !

should the be suction on the pump ...or just very slight?

My flue gas analyser has a pump and you can’t feel any suction even if you take the pipe off and cover the port itself

Not sure on this particular model, but later 4 gas machines usually move between 4 and 12 litres/minute measured with a flow gauge on the inlet port
