You cut the liner? You sure you cut it neat with no burrs? I'd be tempted to check that. Maybe when you screw the tip on, it pushes the end of the cut inwards.

Been trying some of the suggestions made on here, it is much much improved now, it does sometimes still stick but it is now usable now, so thanks to everyone who has helped I am very grateful.
Check that the feed roll tension not to tight.
If it is, every time the wire stops it will deform the wire at the feed roller .
You will clear the tip the it will weld until the deformed wire reaches the tip and stop again, deforming the wire at the feed roll again and again until you slacken the tension.
Thanks aceyered I will check that. I do try to set the tension so that it drives but stops if I hold the wire, but what you say does make a lot of sense with what I have seen
No Forger there's no burnback setting that I know to, unless there's something inside the machine that I don't know about.
