If it says environmentally friendly on the label it's probably useless. Look for the product with the most scary look safety warning section on the label, even better is if it's marked only to be sold to professionals

well buy the genuine stuff and add some waste engine oil. ive just done my shed again. its only its 3d coat in 30 years and still in mint condition same as my fenceposts

Another one:- case hardening compound that doesn't harden. Kasenit was the proper stuff but I think it had some nasties in it so was banned.
Thing is though all the old people in the world are OLD so it can't have shortened their life span much. There are obviously exceptions like Asbestos for instance but are the new generations going to live to 150 now.
The world will be even more over populated

Messing aside , I was varnishing a floor in a rental property ,,, normally I use 2k and think nothing of it , but next door has a new born etc etc ,, so the next choice for me was an oil based tough varnish , I spoke to a friend of mine who works for Dulux , long story short the recipe for oil based varnish has had to be changed so much to meet regulations , the water based acrylic varnish [ that I only ever thought of as diluted squash ] is now tougher than the oil based floor varnish ,,, and it goes on with a sponge ,,, crazy world .

namely the crap screwfix sells and you dont need ppe because it dont even burn you if u get it on your skin use the proper industrial stuff and the least little spec makes you spit on it and run for the tap

Another thing that should make a come back, copper chromium arsenate, the stuff they used to pressure treats timber with that actually preserved it, not just the brown they put on now that is akin to modern fence paint.

I love the way the yanks put "may have been found to cause cancer in the state of California" stickers on just about everything you buy in the US. Even nuts and bolts, tools etc Talk about covering your ass.

I can personally relate to paint stripper, paints and degreaser.
