started building the door, which is also going to be a stove. My dad was a fitter for 50 years and is doing the pipework.

I would not do the pipework myself out of a sense of self preservation... I do not want to blow myself up.

But my dad has the skills so I'm in luck.

Next task is a sheild for the gas cylinder. A pretty serious sheild.

Then I'm going to my dads to get him to look over it and give me an 'okay', before I light it.

With that out of the way, ill facricate the attchment points for the burner and the grill

bought an R20 tyre to fit on the new rim

Bought and fitted a small shutter padlock

Gonna give a few hours with the orbital sander tomorrow and then finish with sandpaper by hand, to get all those edges really neat.
After that then it's paint.

corner detail and the magnets im using to keep the ring and also the grill fittings on the top surface. They are high temp magnets, Samarium Cobalt.

How much does the combo wheel, tyre etc weigh? Looking at it, I doubt I could lift it high enough to fit to your vehicle.

It weighs quite a lot. I have a 30x30mm solid bar arm for the tyre holder, and it is causing it to deform slighly when the weight is on it. Not enough to worry about from a safety standpoint.

But the result is that, the tyre doesnt just glide back into place anymore on the lip. Most of the weight is on the lip of the bumper when it's in the stowed position.

So yeah its not dangerous just slightly more inconvienient. But - i have a cookinator. Can't make omlette without breaking something.

I have a mountain path to test its suitability, ill be doing that soon

I'm nearly done with the painting. These pics were taken a few days ago.
I agonised longtime about what colours to paint it, and then i went with a non colour - grey

Ah cheers. Yeah thats exactly where its going, up the mountain!
I was surprised that at one stage, when I stood back and looked at it - I realised that the thing actually makes sense. A few people tried to tell me thats a sheite idea, bad idea etc

But actually the thing approaches sense. Another thing, I've never been interested in cooking , at all.
I do want to cook on this thing though, im suddenly interested.
