Where are you guys getting your info from?no solid wire with pulse?fcaw pulse?
dont be just guessing when someone is looking for help
mayur i would contact fronius directly if you are having problems.mig isnt my area but solid wire with pulse should have less spatter not more.

Woah. You don't use a pulse on dual shield flux core wire. Or at least you really don't need too. The pulse on a synergic mig is more use on aluminium and stainless wire. Some people use it on solid steel wire but rarely do I hear of it used on fcw.

When I said it's not common to use a pulse on solid wire CARBON STEEL I did not mean you cannot or should not do it I meant there isn't any real advantage to do so unlike with aluminium. It's perfectly fine to do it. Flux core although may help reduce spatter isn't a wire I would ever weld with a pulse. Flux core works best in spray transfer under 1 current IMO.

I appolagise in advance but I only very briefly skimmed over the replys so I'm not sure if I've missed something vital.
It is perfectly normal and usual to use Pulse with a solid Carbon Steel wire, it is very widely used in industry.
It is NOT normal nor really possible to use a Flux cored or Metal Cored wire with the Pulse process. If you are using a non-solid wire there isn't even a pulse synergic line in that machine for this purpose. That is because it is not possible to Pulse flux wires. You only can use them in conventional dip or spray.
If you are using a flux cored wire in pulse this will be the cause of the spatters and you won't be able to stop or reduce the spattering.
If you are using solid wire the spatters will be caused from the arc length being too short, eg the distance from the end of the wire too the weld pool is too close, it's probably touching hence the cause of the spatter. In order to greatly reduce the spatter you need to increase the length of the arc length. This is done with the potentiometer on the right hand side of the machine, turning it to the right will increase the voltage slightly, therefore burning the wire off quicker and as such lengthening the arc. You need for pulse the end of the wire to be around 1-2mm off the weld pool for optimum results.

Right, regardless of what's been said this machine should run smooth on solid wire with the gas that has been quoted.
Set the machine to SG2/3
Set the wire diameter to correct size (what diameter wire are you on?)
Set arc length correction to zero
Set inductance to zero
Set output to straight mig (non pulse)
You haven't mentioned a wire speed or voltage setting you are using or a plate thickness you are welding so you could well be in globular transfer for all I know.
More detail please. If you go too far away from the default settings the machine has for a given wire/gas the machine will weld badly. Try and get it to run nicely with the minimum of special setting

He should absolutely be able to get a nice weld on that machine.
One of the main purpose of pulse is that there is no Globular transfer, so the material thickness against wire diameter, voltage and wire speed is semi irrelevant.
I would say it's either because the synergic line selected doesn't match the reality, eg the machine thinks it's using a 1.0mm wire but he actually has 1.2 or the wrong wire type selected on the machine such as Alu or CrNi when it's actually Steel.
Spatter on pulse machines (all things being equal) is more often than not due to the arc length being too short. Set the arc length correctly and within reason it should be virtually spatter free.
Also this is only valid assuming that he is not trying welding vertical up or vertical down with Pulse, more often that pulse will be way too fluid for vertical positional work and could also cause spatter
