But surely the woman should be looking at the effect of turning the handle? (which I presume to be the X axis).
And have her hair tied back. Is she wearing dark glasses?
Two people will just get in each other's way.

Edit, can't they adjust the machine so the workpiece is clamped down with T slots, and get rid of the blue vice?

its supposed to have a cutter guard fitted not that i use them mind but for a private workshop the over arm isnt fitted niether so loads of chatter as the cutters stuck out to far and unsupported

I believed it all was ok until I noticed the CREASES in the overalls and clean hands . It suddenly became too good to be true.

Surely to G** the parents are supposed to teach their offspring SOMETHING!!! i.e. Knives are sharp and can cut you. Fire is hot and can burn, Water is wet and can drown you , Jumping off of tall building is not really a good idea . I could go on,I usually do.

I think it's something staged to test observation, maybe to test machine shop trainees.

Its definitely not an advertisement for a companies abilities.

Since its just a still photo, I find there's not enough information to form an opinion. I can't see any indication that the cutter is running or metal being cut, so one could also surmise that the photo is from an initial setup being performed.

Whilst I am not aware of the full circumstances in this case, at some point you have to take a little responsibility for your actions. Who exactly was holding the knife?

Bit like the woman (WOMAN, not child) who burned themselves with a coffee at Maccy D's and sued them over it because they didn't say "watch out - Hot! How else is fresh coffee served? On a lettuce?

I am not defending the teacher as the child should be properly supervised but!
