want a bit of advice please .

I've got a cheapnese 11 quid suction gun with a 1.8 nozzle (figured it would do for primer ?)

Don't want to use one of those for colour but neither do I fancy the prices of brand new gear for a job here there after this one .

Ideally I want 2 guns , a decent sized one for when I come to respray the cars shell and one for touch ups of parts .

Any ideas on where I should be looking (I have access to a 150 ltr comp , so airflow should be ok

Watched a few of videos on both guns

I prefer the way this seems (to me as a novice to spraying ) seems to lay out the paint , and I think it’s an honest video (I see zero product placement ) .

And for a ton it’s in budget , if it can do that it isn’t user failure to me lol

I think I read somewhere that the fast mover guns are a well made copy of the very expensive sata guns.

I have one of their small touch up guns with a 125ml pot & I like it that much I use it for everything! I have a good kestrel gun that cost maybe 4x more & it stays in the box!

Yes they are decent guns but they don't last long and spares are not available sadly.

after doing some searching i painted my cortina with a £30 sealey 701g spraygun worked well and still going strong 18months on only gripe is the pressure control is very hard to move but i just leave it wide open and adjust at the regulator all pics are off the gun

I have one of those devilbiss flg guns not sure if it's the 5 but I have had it for years probably about 15 came with a 1.8 and a 1.5 nozzle that was around 100 quid been a great gun run all-sorts through it from enamel to 2 pack and high build yes it's basic but that suits me

I bought a devilbiss gti off a forum member for 80 quid, difference between that and my el cheapo gun is night and day, makes spraying a pleasure

Knowing how to setup the gun is half the battle I think. If you get the paint thinned correctly, gun correct, pressure right and know the basics to spraying you’ll get reasonable results.

I think I’ve decided on an FL5

Been considering the PPS way of spray set up but have a couple of questions to those who know better ...

I’ve found a place who will supply me ready-to-go 2k base pre mixed from the tin at 15 a ltr (less if I obv order more or certain colours ) , also will supply me a 2k lacquer also ready to shoot . (For me it takes mixing out of the equation ) , does that sound a plan ish ?

This brings me to the pps system , seems easier that washing everything out completely? , it’s it worth heading down that road for a novice ?

Once you mix 2k clear with activator you have a pot life of a few hours,are you aware of that ?

And if someone could let me know a rough quanity I need of each for an mgb. I'd be grateful , too much is better than too little and I've other things to spray with left overs

Ferrari’s grey Grigio titanio metallic outside .

And Ferrari red Rosso Scuderia inside the cabin , under bonnet and thru to the boot

Need to find a Ferrari dark colour I like for a racing stripe .....
