I have painted most of both of my cars with the FLG 5, 1.8 and 1.4 guns, having never painted anything before so they must be OK for a total novice. Although don't expect a perfect job the first time you pick up the gun. I've had to do plenty flatting and polishing and run removal along the way.
The main problem I have had is inconstant levels of orange peel, sometimes zero and sometimes bad but fixable. I think its down to the ambient temperature, the warmer the better. Also painting the entire car in a single session would be good if you have the space. Mine have all been done piecemeal.
