Did the perf pipe in slip into the solid pipe or did you have to but weld it?
When you say 6 times area I assume it is silencer cross section area versus pipe cross section area that you are tlking about. I that correct?
Are you going to use modern rubber band type mounts or traditional cotton real type mounts? Do the rubber bands give better isolation?
Nor me, when I did my exhaust with 0.8mm. I had to do a bit of hunting around for 0.6mm but it is available. Think I could only find it in 316, not 308.I'd not realised that stainless wire was available in 0.6mm.
All the parts were 304. Seems to be the norm for car exhaust stuff. (So 308 wire is best).
