Lol. I am not really worried Bout protecting a new one. I am asking for the 2 trees within falling range to be felled anyway.

Problem is even finding one of these damn sheds locally. Even the ones listed as in Birmingham are shipping only and that's prone to damage ,especially the cheaper ones.

So sick of all this online selling !
Its a proper ball ache.

price up in that instead

roof sheets are 2m legths so thats your sides

angle iron for your roof like the garages use and also your doors

it will be alot stronger as well with a little more weight to it

the racking uprights are 3x3" 3mm thick

It has to fit in with the other sheds....

Buying the steel would end up more expensive anyway.

if you want stronger build is it worth it





good idea if you want the shelving

but all it needs is the roof and sides built onto it

its heavy so wont blow away, its stronger and its also reusable elsewhere if needed


all you need is a cross bar at base and you dont need the middle bars if you dont want them

the sides can be cross braced and all the roof needs is an apex form making

all easy enough to build

also why not its just a frame with an apex roof on the top the same as what you had there already only difference is its much stronger and heavier

so wont get blown around

can be built with pallet racking and covered with thin profile roofing sheets for the side and the roof

drill and bolt through the rack or strap over the rack to fasten the sides

can build it 5 times or even 10 times faster as it all clips together and the roof is 900mm wide per sheet

Yes I might have got away with it. BUT.
Sadly the shed debacle continued.

Had the month from hell and hoped that April might start better but it got worse in many respects.
Lots of stuff I can't be bother to mention but major points being that rushing and child care and crap weather and non drying paint over sealant meant I had to take Navara instead of car and my son put the tin of pain in the back before I could check I had hammered the lid down. It was resting on an angle in the back of Navara when I found it the following morning (after having very little sleep die to ill grandson).

Paint was 5 litres of expensive TekaLoid and it was not until my wife screamed what the hells that did I realise it had poured out into back of navara onto grass only for me to walk it all into the caravan carpet whilst bringing in the washing basket full of kids clothes.

Hence started me on the angryist clean up of paint you have ever seen...to say I had lost it was an understatement.

Even when getting it out of Navara it had to run down the path instead of the grass whilst I was pressure washing it out.

Fortunately I had purchased 5 litres of thinners (also not cheap) and had some rags lying about so I was able to get 90% of the visible parts of truck. But as I say it ran down the path instead of the grass.
Amazing how it dried in minutes on the path but would not dry at all (AGAIN) on the replacement OB1 sealer I had replaced the EBT with as screwfix does not stock EB25. AArrgghhh.

Anyway back to "the" shed.
Being aware of what gaz says that many sites won't allow bigger sheds unable to get a 6 x 6 at all and found it hard to get a Green 8 x 6 I was greatful to find one on wilkos site. Knowing most sizes of sheds are listed as the OD to sell as better value the internal size is around 7 foot 5 or 7 foot 6 I gambled. I had already been told anything related to wife's disability would be turned a blind eye.

Anyway lucky the shed was in the Navara above the paint so I got it out and my son (who happened to be quite ill) came straight from work to help erect it.
We started and after 15 mins had the base in place. At this stage it was clear it was a generous sized 8 foot. In fact 8 foot 2 inches on the ID meant it was over the slabbed pad already laid.

Whilst debating if we were being a bit cheeky on size (too big a shed ) (needing more slads laid,) we got the cladding out.
Well guess what..............it was light grey. Ok perhaps that's the inside.

Yeeessss it was.....sadly the outside was dark grey. Almost black really.

Despondent I phoned the help line. Nice lady..but in no position to alter the situation quickly.....left the call as we would send photos of the already erected base etc to see if they will deliver cladding in green. But decided it was going to be easier to just pack it up and get them to take it away.
ESPECIALLY as wilko don't list a grey 8 x 6 foot shed.......even the helpline lady could not find one and can't understand how we got sent one.

So......part 2 starts again Tuesday when a new 7 foot x 6 foot 3 inches shed should be delivered....IN GREEN. From a different supplier.

Well that's what it says on the delivery note.
