Another thing that is a pleasant surprise is that this spares or repairs con saw has the highest compression reading of my 3 saws at just under 150psi

It does run excellent. So with these few minor repairs and I am repainting the guard etc it will likely become my main saw. With the other Stihl as a backup. When one goes down it's a PITA even for DIY work as my Husky has delayed projects around the house for far too long! (Over a year actually)

So I will keep both Stihl saws and sell on the Husky.

Where did you get that compression tester please?

I am hoping the description is accurate as in that case I think it may only require a carb clean. First I willl fill it with fresh fuel and a genuine service kit then see what it does. And if misbehaving carb strip, US clean and new gaskets will be first step.

My newest spares or repair MS201T is back together and running great. The M tronic carb has very sharp throttle response. Impressed with it. I blasted the bar and sprayed it so it will be completely done in a couple of days

A powerful blower makes one hell of a difference with leaf clearance. When you've got a lot of leaves to clear & some distance to move them, worth their weight.

Well, the seller's description was wrong.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it! I could smell old fuel from the tank when I was adding a fill of fresh fuel.

Fired right up and ran sweet as a nut for 20 minutes. Idling, revving, full throttle and starting / stopping. Faultless. So must have been old fuel.

Result!

The engine has no typical BR800 issues I read about. (Cracked engine / oil leaks or loose exhaust)

Just needs a bit of a clean and normal service



It moves MASSIVE cfm.

Also very handy with side pull cord on these BR800C's since you can restart the engine without taking it off. Very happy

This is more like it after a diesel hot pressure wash & scrub



Checked valve clearances and a little off so benefited from adjustment.

I checked the throttle cable which is adjustable on these and wow it was so slack it was only pulling half throttle. Correctly adjusted now.

All parts cleaned and drying then tomorrow night putting the covers and straps back on and it's done - cleaned and serviced to my liking

I admire how clean you get your stuff, I just dont have the patience, I wish I did, that looks great, for info I also bough the BR 400 I asked about a few weeks ago, spares /repair needed nothing apart from a few tubes for the blower, its a fair uprade from my McCulloch I had previously.

BR800 all done and cleared my front drive with it today. Running amazing. The ability to restart the engine whilst still wearing it is my favourite feature as I was taking my BR600 off and on every time I shoveled leaves into a bin.

Very powerful blower. Makes for quick work and thorough cleaning





MS201T M tronic also done. I blasted and sprayed the original bar. And sharpened the chain.

@JOEPRO have you ever came across an issue of shrivelled carb accelerator pump orings? It would appear to be a common problem, causing the fuel purge bulb to suck air. This is from my McCulloch CS340 and I imagine the Stihl KM111R may be the same.

Acc pump piston measures 5mm, ID approx 3.2mm and width 1.2mm. Seems I may have difficulty finding a decent viton oring in that size.

Yes heard of it Before but not had the issue myself.

If you sign in to LSS Spares website it will let you see the parts diagram for the machine in question.

You will find the part number for that O Ring in there. If they don't have it you'll have the part number at least and expand the search.

Genuine carb rebuild kits may contain the o ring too. Eg if its Walbro a Walbro full lit may include what you need if not available separately.

PS I think my Stihl phase is passing. I have about 20 machines here but not bought anything more for a couple of months

LSE, my google doesnt show a LSS spares? LSE list the complete carb for £60 and dont show parts, part numbers or a rebuild kit on the diagram.

A YT video showing the issue on a Stihl strimmer said that the Oring is not available. He cut down the spring and sealed up the accl. pump with nail varnish, which Im not sure is petrol resistant and a very poor bodge in my opinion.

Im sure O rings are available but may take some effort to find from an enginnering place.

My saw only had a few months use, so Im guessing the O ring was a cheap nitrile or similar, not Viton as it should be.

To confirm the problem on mine, I held the inlet nozzle under water, it leaked air. I held the accl. pump area under aswell and it sucked and squirted water.
