Sorry to hear that Graham, I hope that it's not too debilitating. Will it repair itself or do you need a bit of delicate TIG welding?A sliding hiatus hernia, in my case.
Losing 3 stone also helped me wrt a hiatus hernia that was holed , too many medication conflicts caused it apparently. A few months on acid reduction tabs . a review of my meds and eating very small almost fat free meals & no alcohol or gut stretching drinks & it healed nicely .It needs surgery to repair it, but there's no guarantee of that stopping reflux. The classic treatment is to put you on PPIs, to reduce acid production. For a variety of reasons, in my case, long therm it's not very good solution. I stopped taking the med December 18th and make sure that I don't eat late and have several hours between the meal and going to bed. Where I do have to eat late I pop a pill, will works well.

I get them twice a day , to combat all the other meds burning my guts out .When I was troubled with occasional heartburn against (which Gaviscon and similar proprietary medicines were ineffective), I mentioned it to my GP during a consultation for something else and he prescribed Lansoprazole capsules.
Much better and I seldom need them now.
Made me Tink of this:I get them twice a day , to combat all the other meds burning my guts out .
Have you posted more details on the winch anywhere? I like the look of that.I made this stuck and dead windblown oak unstuck, sadly still dead.

I have lost weight by cutting out a lot of carbon. and eating lots of fats, meat, and other protein. It also seems that I'm less prone to heartburn with this regimen.Losing 3 stone also helped me wrt a hiatus hernia that was holed , too many medication conflicts caused it apparently. I have a second one to build up I have found all my laser cut parts, will do a thread when I do it.Have you posted more details on the winch anywhere? I like the look of that.
If you don't mind me asking, what is a WAFI?Welded up something for a WAFI, no idea what but it looks like this.
