I like that term, guessing it's the gun trade version of "Dave down the pub", one of the best smiths we had in Birmingham was an ex-army armourer, most folks in my gun club used him.

Fought me every inch of the way and it is a good job the barrel is scrap because I have certainly finished it off. From now on I am going to just assume Locktite has been used and get some heat into these things before I start.

At last, I've got my toolholders in front of me, rather than behind. That'll save me at least 5 seconds per tool change :rolleyes:

I've more than enough spares to fill the unpopulated slots, as and when.

Turned some rollers from Oilon, just as horrible to turn as Nylon but you do get a very nice finish.

Didnt make this little chap, but delivered him, spent all day trying to get him to stand and feed. Tubed 150mls of goat colostrum into him. Held him while hes had a plasma transfusion, and managed to get him to latch to his mum, but he's still not able to actually get up. So Ill be lifting him to mum every 2 hours through the night!

I finally got around to fitting some flexible metal sheathing to one of my DRO read heads. Non-standard when I bought the setup, but subsequently fitted. Free from AMTS(NW) Ltd. (Originally EMS-i).
I decided to try to prize the existing terminating collar from the head, fully expecting to break wires.

Amazingly, it still worked, so on with making some ferrules.

Then it was just a case of mixing some epoxy and fitting them, then reterminating the lead.

Jobs a good 'un.

All tidied up, at long last :hug:

Did you make that monitor mount or buy it? I could do with one like that for laptop in the truck.

Been looking for ball mounts for ages but not seen one heavy enough.

I adapted the mount which came with the display. I added a knuckle to allow tilt.

You might be able to get the basic mount from AMTS, they seem very helpful.
