Today I started to make some space in one of my cutter storage units. I re-organised some drills and cutters into the storage unit featured a few pages back. Firstly all new drills in order:

Then Carbide drills, a couple of which I can see need attention where I have brutalised them getting me out of bother:

The middle row of boxed drills are all parabolic and it is a pity I didn't get more when I had the opportunity, oh well, you can't always buy everything:

All the cutters in the small drawer are all small carbide for the little CNC Mill, I did all right with these as I bought/Buy them at the right money. Some six flute cutters there that I paid a fiver each for!

One of my dreams is owning a toolbox with a bunch of drawers organised like yours obviously filled with machining bits , like taps, dies,twist drills,morse taper drills ,tool holders few the lathe,for a milling machine, end mills etc
It will arrive that day sooner or later

I thought the idea was to insert the pin, then rotate the shaft till the pin locks it self against the 2 raised things so there’s no need to hold it?

It is, but he has issues with his hands.
That is a reason the finish on the handle is rough.

Got sick of this thing again.
Tried once more to repair the thing.
Figured out that
The cylinder I've bought for it , which was advertised with an OEM cylinder image and for what I've asked for it to be replaced, since I've got it in the mail...
Doesn't fits the intake boot , because mine it's a 770 and the cylinder is for the 760 .
Which probably has a different stroke or deck height.
Cobbled an adapter plate for the intake from an hardened steel 0.8mm plate .
The new carburettor despite Chinese unbranded stuff works but I can't understand if there's still an air leak somewhere which is likely to be.
The thing runs on choke but can't rev up .
Idles at around 4000 rpm and if I press the throttle it revs up but then don't go down.
If I get the cutter to speed it backfires and dies .
I'm putting the thing on the shelf for at least two months.
Then OEM cylinder and piston , crank bearings, crank seals, everything OEM

Fittings for a miniature steam engine so that an inaccessible union nut with a slightly damaged thread will never need to be undone; this fitting could be undone instead.

And i've been hacking away with a round file at an old pair of pliers I got in an assorted box of old tools, to make an impromptu heath robinson pipe bender for where access is tricky.

Window shaped balustrades. Tedious to make but quite satisfying when they're done.

Had an attempt at rope splicing, first an eye in cheap cord, then a ring in Mamut 9.5mm dynamic climbing rope. The last inch is frayed but lines up with the mark. If I were going to use this - Im mot, more practise needed... it would be whipped/lockstiched so the fraying wouldnt matter. The female core is tapered and the male core and cover tapered, both 1 fid length.

Peculiar forward anchor plates for the rear seat loop on the Norvin that I'm building for someone.
Every last element of that machine has proved to be a nest of vipers...
But, burning out nests of vipers is a fine occupation, if every there was...

Gate made all from recycled stuff , only cost was two bags of postcrete, a couple of cutting disks, 2 sanding disks ,a bit of oxy propane and a disposable paint brush.

Gate = pallet Wood
Hinges = one incomplete pre made hinge, the other forged with oxy propane to match, hinge brackets two offcuts of angle already cut to that size.
Hinge rods = 16 mm smooth rebar offcuts
Post = old 4 x 4 post thrown away by canal maintenance
Bolts = M12 studding offcuts.
Paint = thrown away customer return from Homebase

Made a hole deeper.

Made some posts and a gate about 5' long for a garden.

A builder had put down a concrete pad to bolt the post to.

Felt a bit iffy drilling and fixing the holding down bolts.

The concrete was 6" deep, leant on the post and pulled the concrete "block" out.

Dug the hole down another metre and welded 900mm extra onto the post base.

I finally got around to making a holder for some of my lathe tooling. It's only taken two years...
I knew the old table leg would come in handy. A nice piece of 1940s beech.

Replaced the indicator strip on my dads mirror. The original had cracked and let water in, would have failed MOT next month. The other side is undamaged. As a comparason, the amazon import is better made, brighter* and more amber coloured vs a pale yellow on original. It fits well and has a foam strip/seal on the outside. Local Kia dealer no longer sells parts to public only servicing, and would have been over £100, vs £20.

* Its a sht design with LED or two at the ends and a light bar. A normal bulb side repeater is much more noticable even if in a worse position.

I forgot about the catch plate, but I've a spare piece that I'll finish tomorrow. Then it's playing 'hunt the catch plate'

Drove my loved Punto to go to work today after 7 or 8 months.
I wasn't sure I was still able to drive it after all this time using my Audi A4...
Anyways engine warning light still on till this afternoon when I went back to work after lunch .
Then this evening on the road to home I've took it on the highway after an half tank of fresh gasoline, and had little bit of longer shifts up to 3500 rpms.
Now it's way better surely there still was air in the fuel line ,or the cat was little clogged ...
Anyways it changed sound an now feels way better,more rich without bogging here and there .
I'm very happy.
Now on Saturday I'll wash both the Punto and the A4 ,an I'll try to sell the Audi cause I never felt anything for it.
Too expensive to keep it (it needs a lot of work and money about 1500euros + insurance 600 euros and owning taxes ,700 for trespassing and 400+ euros every year, are way to much money, I prefer to use it for other things TBH)
