Is that a typo ['48 maybe]? The '58s had moved on in body design

Now, where to get some of that 'accordian'-type stuff to help protect the ways, threads etc from getting covered in the chips....?

I've started working on the pulleys Scottmk1 sent me. This is going to be the new motor pulley for my Monarch lathe (actually the lathe it's being machined on). I've turned all of the casting features off it all over so that it runs in balance, and bored it for the motor shaft of 1.750". Need a keyway put in it .200" wide and .100" deep then it's ready to go. Next up is the spindle pulley.

Cheers!
Thanks
Your work never ceases to amaze me. Whilst I’m a bit obsessed with English built machinery, those American machines are something else. A lot of American features actually end up on English machines, notably the camlock chuck design. Should you be interested I have a copy of Emmermans red book from the fifties (I think, could be earlier) which is a huge catalogue of machine tools. You could have it for the postage as I have no use for it.
