Right part of the world, it's Chashu pork to go on ramen.
In that picture it had already had two hours boiling with a chicken to make the broth, then it went in the oven in that pan of soy and mirin for a couple more hours, then in the fridge overnight before getting thinly sliced and crisped up in a hot oven. The egg got the same soy and mirin treatment overnight in the fridge.
Delicious (and very photogenic
) but it's a lot of work for noodle soup.

It actually was, but not how you're thinking
. I couldn't think what I wanted for dinner so had a look through said frenchman's book and saw a recipe for pho, which made me think of ramen. 
My stuff from the last two days, the chassis is just made from remaining bits of aluminium sheet I can find in the garage, prity crap at the TIG work, not done for a long time, least the welder still works and I did some welding.

Been wanting a tube notcher for some time so today decided to start making one, well part of it at least out of scrap.
Went round on my hands and knees dragging out every bit of scrap hidden under the benches and in dark corners to make the tube clamp.
It might not be pretty but should do the trick once I get round to sourcing the rest of it.
