My final year dissertation was written on an Apple, I recently found the discs and instantly binned them, what else can you do with a 8" floppy these days.

I remember hacking a scsi zip drive into my Emu sampler, luxury having 100mb instead of a floppy

Il be building up a shared scsi2sd drive for both the samplers.

Many 500 meg partitions makes them a much more viable machine

The usb emulators have to use disk images so still restricted to 1.44mb just more convenient to twirls knob to choose a named disk image

I well remember loading windows 95 and Photo Shop 3 (?) the hoping and praying that it would not hang on disc no.12 or what ever disc you were on after spending half the afternoon installing disc after disc.

It will become a victim of its own success and implode, with advances in automation,AI and tech everyone will be unemployed, we will all be sat at home and unable to buy anything, Bill Gates and Mr Bezos will be sending out food parcels in Mr Musks driverless trucks for free

SCSI or scuzzie as we used to call it is another one I am glad I don't have to see again, TWAIN or train was a slight improvement but not as good as Useless Serial Bus .

Is this a reaction to the name South Africans give to 3.5" 'floppies'? I recall my gast being thoroughly flabbered in my first week in RSA when a very prim and proper middle-aged Afrikaaner secretary asked if I had one!

So when I worked at the DWP at a jobcentre what 10 years ago we was still using a programme that had been written for windows 3.1, then brute forced on to win 95, then forced on to …. It had more bugs than the insect house at London zoo, including occasionally telling you that the person you was looking at (who was in front of you) was born in 1802 and should be removed from the system...
