I'll wager there is a missing decimal floating around somewhere....42ft? That I doubt.

For the cost of one of them I would be as well putting the money towards a second hand 2 or 4 poster. Think I am going to try either trestles or scaffolding for this depending on what I can get my hands on locally for sensible moneyHow about a tilting car lift from CJ autos..I have one. It can get above waist height one end at a time.
Yeah, see what your saying. But you can't pack a two/four poster away and lean it against your garage wall... using only around 6" of space. For the cost of one of them I would be as well putting the money towards a second hand 2 or 4 poster. True, this is out on my driveway though so storage not a concern. Can't have one inside the garage anyway as the roof is too lowYeah, see what your saying. But you can't pack a two/four poster away and lean it against your garage wall... using only around 6" of space.
They look quite handy do they do a taller version?
Thanks Gaz they look pretty interesting. Might take a trip down the scrapyard and see if they have any heavy box section. More I think about it the more a trestle style seems to be the way to goif you base it around a genie lift with a beam across the rear you will lift it high enough
i prefer a bar under the car
high lift car jacks and also the genie lift ratchet can also lift the cars
Crafty UK four post hoist - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums
928 Forum - Crafty UK four post hoist - I've been thinking about making my own, human powered, hoist. In researching the internets, I came across this lift in the UK! Very clever, I must say. It uses Hi-Lift (offroad/farm) jacks to raise each corner, and is fairly portable....rennlist.com
