I have seen that style attack on another forum and it rapidly escalates unless stood on quickly.
They will be trying again soon.

Depends whether the tin of Spam was in date or not! Just keep a loo roll handy, just in case.

I seriously doubt you can pick up a virus by simply opening a post/thread
on the forum. What would be dangerous would be to open/click on any
links contained within the suspicious post.

I have an “open to everyone “ Karting Facebook page.
It got spammed by a bot of some sort but every time I blocked the name, the name changed and got back in.
I had to revert to vetting every attempt to post and they became even more plentiful.
I’m hoping they may have given up now and I will open the Page again.
These things are a real pita.
