It has become more 'gator' as you say, but that's still a lizard. He has been christened Ezra .
I was concerned that the head now is a little large for the body and ironically the feet (where it all started) too small ?
Some surgery may be called for, to possibly shorten the neck and move the head into the body more. All but the smallest lizards don't appear to have 'necks' as such.

It will be left rusty for the most part, but linished back a bit in places, to add a little more texture, before lacquering at some point.

So off with his head, removal of circa 3" of neck which also thickened up the remaining neck when stitched back together.
Happy now, just a bit more cleaning up to do.
