Interesting comment from 500e and bright spark.
A friend of mine has a lot of classic bikes, one of his mates had a wife who was always moaning about his classic Norton collection, when he bought a bike he told her Oh its just a scrapper for £40 for me to tinker with.
Sadly he died and she just rang the scrap man who took the lot, I believe it was worth more than his house! So its important that family know what your collectables are worth.
The cabinets are an ideal apprentice restoration project
In all honesty, any person who would ring a scrapper to get shut of their departed's gear, I've no sympathy for. Better the scrapman to make money, IMHO, than someone who has such little regard for their departed's stuff.
