yeah the speedglas ones i have are both battery only, but the batteries out last what the spec says i reckon, the sealey one i had about 6-7 years ago made by optrel i think, was hopeless, it started to need putting under a light for a while before use and then died, the solar cells also looked a bit delaminated, i tried to open it up and change the batteries, but it was bonded together very tightly, and it was just imposable to open with out damaging, but when i got in to it, it had the same batteries as my speedglas, but they must be hooked up to the solar cells to charge or maybe just make them last along time, anyway, when they eventually die, the mask is pretty much a wright off, so i wouldn't go for one that can't have the batteries replaced again, and i'd much rather just have batteries that need changing from time to time, after all the solar cells just take up space and weight and money that could be better used for extra viewing screen... imo.
