Tig Welding Vs Gas Welding?
How does Tig Welding compare with Gas Welding, I trained as a gas welder many years ago and new to Tig Welding, Are the techniques basically the same or are they completely different?

) you have to feed the rod into the arc. Back to the original question ''tig vs gas'' Gas is obvious better than tig for certain metals for example Copper braising or Copper to Brass or Copper to Steel, but tig is better I find for mild steel or stainless because you are doing it in an inert atmosphere. Of course you can gas weld all of these but the weld will be all dirty until you clean it up. As for alimunium I have only gas welded it so can not give any comparison.
) and I prefer it it. (Gone off topic again
) When ever I learn a new welding techinque I never compare it to anything else and I think in my opinion thats the best way to learn.(My opinion
