Tig Welding Vs Gas Welding?

TIG welding

TIG welding is similer to gas welding but the main diffrence is the heat source. Like for gas welding you need to adjust the flame according to the material need (Iron, copper, brass etc.), but in TIG welding you need to take care a lot for diffrent material regarding welding parameters, polarity, shileding gas etc. You can use the same technique for TIG welding as you use in gas welding like hand movements, wire feeding. And if you are a good gas welder then I hope u can be best in TIG welding because it is a play of hand movement and controls. Go ahead

I done all the positional stuff , we had to weld a 3 inch pipe 12 inches from the floor and 12 inches from the wall , very tricky !

Did you ever do 4 inch purged with nitrogen tigman? Or just 4 inch without nitrogen.
Could you post some pictures.

Never purged before , Sorry mate no pictures it was a long time ago ! got all my written work in a file , cant read it mind Ha Ha !

I used to pipe weld with oxy acetylene ! very hot work !

What about the flanges! Especially if you were working for a tight outfit who wouldn't pay the extra for weld necks. Table H slip ons, now you're talking about heat! Never met a gas welder who did the insides, although most specs called for 'back and bore welded' W/A
