Titan or blackndecker or silverline.?

I'm an Evolution owner so can't comment on your choices.
Belts, buy the best you can get, cheap ones are a disappointment. I've just bought some genuine Norton ceramic and they are superb.

B&D. Bought one after recommendations on here and sold recently as I now have a Milwaukee cordless.
Ceramic belts last much longer and worth the extra cost. Norton are good but watch out for the fakes on eBay, 3M last much longer than any other belt I’ve used and they have a coating on the back of the belt making them much smoother and quieter.

Titan can be surprising, a FB post years ago a builder bought a Titan drill to finish a job, ended up being pretty indestructible

I bought a 9" grinder for chopping cast stacks and it survived some serious abuse

I bought the Silverline one and find it useful. Am using zirconium belts on it.

I got a black and decker one which ate itself after about half an hour of using it - I think it was missing the cap off the end of the rubber pulley, the belt went sideways and chewed its way through the cover!

To be fair B&D sent me a new one no quibbles so their warranty worked fine!

The Titan one looks identical to the evolution and they seem to have a fairly good reputation, also screw fix are good for no quibble returns

Titan = recommended. I picked up a cheap 9" grinder to do 1 job, it lasted well for many years and only got sold when I needed to downsize / relocate.

B&D are / were made in the same factory as Dewalt (Newton Aycliffe - inlaws worked there) and I don't think they deserve any price premium over Silverline etc. For some reason I rate Dewalt above B&D (I had a bad experience many years ago).

A new one on my list are Katsu ( and the similar One-Van), I bought one as a clone of cordless Makita and recently ordered another as they're good value for the money.

posted before titon is good stuff i had a larger hammer drill was 2nd hand when i bought it lasted years cost 10er so abused it as well

bought a titon breaker near 10 years ago still going strong so did a builder mate after he used mine

just cheak the size of belts that there a standard size

I'm on my second B&D after original work out from many years of use. I've also got, somewhere, a (never used) adapter kit that fits an angle grinder

I have a Macallister which has been pretty good as a hobby use, but quite a few hours of hobby use

Definitely buy good belts, I find the blue zirconium ones last well when cleaning up welds etc

how is the milwakee cordless one? I keep looking at the 13mm one to replace my evolution one

The Evolution one is currently on Amazon for less than a Titan or BD.

I have an Evolution one like you, and it's been fine...

I haven't had the best experiences with it, but I think that's more down to it not quite suiting my use case in the way I had envisaged, rather than any failure of the tool itself.

Yes, me too. Machine excellent. Ceramic or zirconium (blue) belts. Worth the extra money.

Loving it. Plenty of power and being cordless with adjustable angle makes it much more versatile. It also has a lot more control and power doesn’t drop off even at low speeds. Belt changes are really simple too, push in the the front roller and it locks back so you change the belt over, release it with the push of a lever and your ready to go again. Really smooth with quality belts like 3M and Milwaukee (might actually be 3M) but rough with cheap belts.
I’ve mainly been using it with the new 5ah high output batteries which have given a noticeable power boost in all the tools even over the 6ah ones

I might have to invest in one, always a faff plugging the evo one in and setting it up! I have not tried the new 5AH batteries yet either.

I bought one 5ah battery when I got the file sander and off the back of that bought the new stubby torque gun set with 5ah batteries. The previous gen stubby torque gun was then sold with the 6ah batterIes I had.

Avoid the evolution one, no spare parts available if you break it.
