Peace has arrived.

So time to play with new toys.

I had to buy some new tools for my play pen. I would of brought replacement parts to fix, but the cost made it uneconomical.

Wet and Dry Bench grinder.



Very quiet.
So play time.



Free hand. I need to look into getting a tool rest to hold the blades on the wet stone. But it does give a nice finish.





All set up and ready to play.

Was offered a trailer for free on the condition I got rid of all the crap that was in it.

Got it home today (just) seems the leaf springs might have made a bid for freedom on the way home luckily nothing happened

So need to sort getting rid of everything 1st new springs then aa genaral tidy up.

Has ramps to the rear and appears to have a drop down gate at front of trailer aswell with caged fronts and sides

I’ve tried all tool holders, rests etc. Freehand is the best. It just takes practice and patients

The marking tools I made in another thread were free hand.

Tell you what. Swap you a special hammer for a sleazily sharp thing

One I like doing is zeroing the trip so that it reads the same as the last digits on the total mileometer.

Be careful with those Milwaukee screwdriver bits if they are the impact ones. I got a box of them in screwfix & I've managed to snap off several of them driving in long screws with an impact screwdriver. They snap off the nose of the bit, leaving it in the screw. Then the fun begins if you need to remove the screw!

They seem to be over hardened & that makes them shatter, probably sending out some flying shards of metal!

We have the Lidl version of that wet grinder at our mens shed & it's great for restoring the tips on chisels & planes. But I don't know why they didn't fit some sort of rest on the wet stone & what are all those steps for in the edge of the tank.

That's almost the same mileage (kilometreage?) as my Surf! My clock has a KPH clock that's been converted to MPH yours looks like it might be a Four Runner one.
Love my ol truck!

Was hoping to get a photo of the analogue tachograph in my elderly DAF last week when the odometer rolled past 500,000. For the fifth time .

Yep, a 20 year old wagon that's covered over 2.5 million km's and is still going strong .
