Today I acquired...........

Today I acquired a large bag of workwear emblazoned with the company logo and 2 new stainless locks for the gear locker on my trailer.

No photos because a, it's dark, and b, it's been a damned long day which started with me leaving home at 5.30 to drive 15 mile to the yard. 3 hours later, after being unable to get out of West Auckland due to 6" of snow which closed more of the area down, I finally got back home having driven 30 miles and not being more than 4 from home .

Normal service might resume tomorrow, which will hopefully involve being parked near Newcastle and a couple of pints of ale after tea.

I was talking to a lorry driver at Washington who'd been on the road 5.5 hours to get up from Preston, the A66 was closed so he'd had to use the A59 via Blubberhouses... nose to tail at <30mph with fozy duckers panic-braking every time a single snowflake fell, he said - oh, and rear fog lights galore

2 of our chaps came over from Cockermouth to Scotch Corner and couldn't get over the A66.

They ended up going over the A69 and down the A1, had a nightmare run and got there half an hour after me. I battled to get back home and waited until 10.00 when lots of gritting wagons had done their work, but the trip down the A68 and the road through Piercebridge to Scotch Corner was still "interesting" . Some of my old muckers at GCS Johnson heavy haulage at Barton Park had been at it for 4 hours trying to get 2 big modular 300 ton rigs out of their yard, not helped by lorry "drivers" abandoning lorries at the services and clogging the road up...

But Scotland is rising.
This is happening all over the Europe land.
It is all due to the last ice age. The weight pushed down the tetonoic plate. So, now it is returning to the old balance point.

How many eco queen's have taken that into account.

A leak from my compressor, the unloader valve fitting has wheezed its last.

And a £10 addition to my credit card bill for a replacement. And I'm glad I could get one, a replacement pressure switch was listed at £100+.

Finally included a link for the cheap banggood end mill cutter I bought earlier this month.

Been a bit busy, so today was the first time I have used the cutter, and even then, only on some aluminium, just one pass, and probably the wrong speed.





It cuts.

I also got the Chinese lathe (a kind member here sold me), moved from the big shed, and onto the workbench of the wee hut. I can now finally make a start rebuilding it.

Best thing I’ve ever bought was that motorbike scissor lift with wheels I moved the 100lb+ lathe bed and head all by myself, including up onto the workbench. First rule in life, work clever, not hard, although my back is definitely complaining.
