Picked these bits up today a big dexion drawer set, medical stand on wheels, what was left of a lathe and a very useful table on wheels with steps so i can lift boxes down easier.

I went and picked up that gurt parts washer and wash down tank, took an extra bit of cash just in case there were more goodies. Big mistake, the place is loaded with them so i am back there next week to buy lots of things I dont need

Used to see those set frames in pavements, they were used to let light into basements/coal cellars that went under the pavements.

The SIP works, I tried it with a 3.2mm rod, turning it on brought back memories of the one I had back in the day. I'll pass it on to my brother. The torch on the MIG was missing so it has been stripped of the transformer and the rest skipped.
From the same location a few days later were some more goodies including a 12" Record G clamp.
The carver bars pictured were from ebay, 60" for £35 and 20" for £20.

And if you break one they are 50 quid a pop to replace the glass, if you're lucky. They do special under-size 'repair' blocks just for the job. Unless of course you break four in a square including the concrete then the whole panel needs to be changed, which when it's 6 metres long is several thousand pounds. Unless of course you get lucky and find an installer working on another site who will come round and change four blocks, repair the concrete and keep it,under the radar then you'll get away with £250 cash for an hour's work.
Moral: don't break smoke vents by dropping quarter of a ton of concrete beam on them.

Once had to repair some of those outside a Halifax building Society in Devizes. Roofers had dropped scaf poles and smashed them. Had to sit in the job all day while the concrete repairs went-off. Spent all day in The Bear across from Wadworths Brewery. Got totally wasted on 4X.
Gaffer had to come pick us up and go back for the van in the morning

Today I acquired some scrap lead from my neighbour. Went to my storage unit looking for my box of moulds and some soldering tips. Discovered I was out of propane when I returned, so one more thing to sort out.
Anyway, a bit of nostalgia; here's a photo of a mould I made for scuba diving weight belt weights. All I had at the time was a drill press to make the cavity and mill the recess for the belt slot. I cut a bar of aluminium in half, installed a couple of nails as locater pins, then put the blocks together and filed them flush. I then drilled a 1" hole between the two blocks 4" deep. Made up a sprue cutter, and modified one of my Dads welding clamps to hold it all together. He wasn't too happy about me bodging one of his clamps, but was impressed with my youthful engineering attempts.

No, Im sure it was 4x. Though I notice they dont make it anymore, now brewing 6x or Im confusing it with another make...it was 30yra ago. It was deffo Wadworths, they rolled the barrels across the rd from the brewery
