Can you explain a little about what appears to be a DIKALOY tool in the blue container. Is that a boring bar that changes length and girth?

Bought a plasma cutter and inverter welder off an old mate who is retiring. I wanted a larger 1ph welder to save carting my old mighty midget about. He said it's a great but of kit it will run 5mm rods at 250amps on a 13amp supply. I was very doubtful about that and when I looked at the extension lead he chucked in with it I could see why. It had a welders 13mp fuse in the plug.

It's in a state of perpetual chaos.
My biggest issue is storage for all the small stuff. I do keep looking at some shiny drawers to help organise things, but it seems every time I get surplus money, something else takes priority, so instead every horizontal surface becomes a suitable storage position.
And given what those wooden containers have just cost me, there won't be money for fixing the storage problem for a while

so use your highs then plenty of space higher supported by your beams just remember your weight
but to be honest you really need to create a space for boxes screws area so you can multi stack they seem all over the place just with your pics that youve posted up

Look at it as saving you money. Just the time saved looking for gear, besides buying kit you already have, but don’t know where it is.

I know what you're saying though.
Everything is grouped together. Manual lathe stuff sits on one bench. CNC lathe stuff sits on top of the CNC lathe. Milling cutters are on a shelf under one bench just out of shot. Standard M6-12 nuts/bolts are in the bins on the wall. Smaller nuts/bolts were on top of the parts washer in parts bins, but are currently in a bread tray next door as the parts washer has been evicted.
The big thing is I need to have a cull of junk. Things like the old control rack/console/processor from the little CNC mill has been laying around for the past couple years (8" CRT, or 386 computer anyone?), and is now covered in cut bars.
I won't post any photos of next door though. It's even worse, as I've spent the past month rebuilding a telehandler, so there's stacks of boxes/parts lying around, as well as piles of tools waiting to be put back. I did start by doing an initial tidy through there, but I filled the rubbish bins so that ground to a halt.
This afternoon's job is to get the new machine in, so I know what else needs juggled around, then get tidied up so I can get the bodywork on the telehandler finished and back to it's owner.

I'm pushed for space too as my mancupboard is 9 x 21 foot garage that I had an internal insulated skin put in thus reducing it to about 7 foot 9" wide by 20 foot 3 inches long
Use the packing boxes , cut to size & make a storage system , there is a lot of useable space above some of your equipments . Look on eBay for disabled drivers turn table seat cushion for a tenner so you can get a turntable that will take a 50 kg welder on 3/4 inch ply . I used a small Haltrack pulley set to hoist my 3 in 1 welder to sit on top of a filing cabinet on such a turntable so it's out of the way . Also used 200 x 50 CLS floor joists to span lower bits and make 24 inch or 16 inch wide shelving 8 & 12 feet long . They are all filled with things that would have normally covered every working space .
