Today I acquired two of these straight edge clampy things from Lidl. Hopefully will be useful for running a router along and with two I can put one either side to make pockets wider than the cutter size.

I use 2 battons of wood and clamps.
But then I spend money on other stuff.

I've done similar in the past, but then I use the battens of wood for other stuff and never have any long enough and straight enough to use. For £10 I thought it was worth having something dedicated.

Does Wickes sell it any other way? unless you go and physically sort through the sheets to find the few good ones.

Wickes delivery service is bl00dy awful! I'll only collect from Wickes
This was my worry, I usually collect and end up shifting half the stack to get good ones, I am unfortunately obeying the quarantine rules so I'm house bound, should have used TP mat have stood a chance.
Lovely lady (**Language**wit) said they were perfect when loaded, they are using city sprint courier, they just said use what you can and they will send new, not what store said when I rang.
They wanted all damaged back, hmmmmmm I've cut the good bits off some so your getting them back in bits, can't do that stock will be wrong, OK take them back and replace them, need to speak to courier as it's not us that's damaged them.
Send me some more and pick these up sorted, nope you need to pay again then if it's courier problem they will claim through them, they told me they were fooked before they got them out the van.i should have refused them at that point, lesson learned.
Told her never again would I order from them, ohhh were sorry I could give you a refund for them, just send me some more and keep the refund, can't do that argggggg
Took refund have lots of free damaged plasterboard.
They are useless.

My current saw (Old 12" compound DeWalt) is a bit ropey. Bought it second hand for 200 quid from my boss in 2007 it's worked hard since then and must have been 3 or 4 years old by that point at least
More than paid for itself.
Near like for like in specs with the benefit of being cordless/corded.
Need to make some pull out rails for the back of the van so it can be slid out for the odd cuts

Not much use when they open the roof like a tin of beans, guess it keeps the insurance company happy
Under no illusion that if they want in they'll be in or they'll just take the whole van. It's an older berlingo and more just to put off an opportunist that may know of a quick and easy way into the the back of it by defeating the manufacturers locks.
I have a coffin type box in the back too that the only quick way into is by opening the left rear door. smashing windows won't get you into it.
If they smashed the back window glass the steel meshes wouldn't take a huge amount to defeat them either.
