Since my last post here I've seen a couple of YouTube videos on the Parkside nibbler, and think it will do ok for my purpose. I now understand the why the rpm's are high, as it cuts tiny chips which would take considerably more time to remove metal at a lower speed.

Whilst in the middle of Lidl, I picked up a hot air gun £9.99 and a glue gun £7.99. I don't NEED either, but I WANTED them.

Acquired a couple sets of bits, a bucket and a nibbler from one of our local Lidl stores. I've noticed that in the past few weeks that no tools are being sold in Aldi stores, but there seems to be an increase in the variety of tools offered at Lidl's.
I have a Milwaukee sheer which is great for cutting flat metal, but find it awkward to cut corrugated with it. So thought I'd try this tool as I plan on installing a metal roof over the torch down felt on the garage I'm building for longevity.

EDIT: I notice this tool runs at a very high rpm, seems awfully fast ?

I struggled to get a nibbler to go up and down the angles in the corrugations - thin slitting disc in a grinder worked perfectly, faster, with less hot shrapnel to stick in the plastic coating . . .

I saw those and, having used a borrowed one [not Lidl job] today, fancied one. But it'd have meant a 30 mile round trip decided against going. Maybe they'll have one left next Tuesday when I'm on the move anyway.

About half way up it should be and the right size tungsten needs to be in there too , but quick pic before I came back in.

On reflection, it was the wrong thing to do as anyone looking to see how it should be fitted might think this was correct. I shall not do that again.

Got these today from Lidl and Amazon. The little Lidl clamps are cheap and cheerful, but ideal for the small stuff, and the magnets are very strong so might pop in and get a couple more

I asked a mate to have a look in Lidl’s for some metal paint for me as he lives nearby. Just had a text to say no paint, but bought a nibbler, I shall be interested to see how he gets on. I‘ve got one of the air ones, bought it about a year ago I suppose, but never used it, put it in the drawer & forgot about it! I got it out yesterday & tried it, it seems to work very well, brilliant for the 15 quid or whatever it was when I bought it. One thing with Lildi tools, they are cheap enough to think that might be handy, even if you have no immediate use.

Doesn't sound too far off, I think they were about six quid in my school library, not with that silly carbon fibre wrap mind you. I've got a handful of them scattered around the house, don't think I've ever seen a scientific calc that wasn't one of those actually.

If you are anything like me and have calculators in the shed/workshop, you will know they have a tough time being operated with manky hands, and put down in coolant, etc carelessly, normally when you are in a hurry. My last casio died last year, so i made a note to pick up a new one. I was in the newsagents/stationers today and they were all expensive and made by sharp, a brand i am not that fond of. So i left it and went into Tesco to get bread etc.

I happened to be passing the stationery aisle and seen the calc's, 4 euros each for these. That cannot be right i thought, so i asked a passing staff member, "Oh yes, thats the price alright". Still not convinced, i took one to the help desk and asked for a price scan, yup 4 bills. So i bought a few of them as you can see. Already given 2 away to my nieces who have exams coming up.

Surely 4 quid cannot be correct ?

I'll bet most exams are now being taken remotely on computers, which also happen to have built in calculators.
I'll also bet the bottom has dropped out of the hand held calculator market due to this.....possibly...
