Re acquired today because I had forgotten I had it

Unearthed this gurt Boughton winch, it was welded /mounted to a very ugly chassis with tons of extra bracing. Set about freeing it from captivity today with the gas axe and disc cutter.

The only bit that needs freeing up is the selector, easing oil applied

Do you know what year it was manufactured? I may have had a hand in building it if it was between '87 to 96

today I got an old school slide rule for calculating how to make cocktails, and it was made by a company that used to manufacture equipment for doing engineering drawings.

of ebay for a whole 99p and its another item that Ive got to donate to the local industrial museum. Now the seller was a local hospice so I thought it would be rude not to send then another £5 through justgiving.

Acquired some freshly cut ash over the weekend from some neighbours in the village that had to have the tree cut back as it was getting in the way of power lines...

Should give me plenty of stock for woodturning once I get it processed and sealed but my wee Makita electric saw struggles so I pushed the buy button on a Makita (Dolmar) petrol chainsaw with 18" bar, it arrived yesterday but haven't had time to actually give it a whirl yet.

My neighbour just came over and offered his mower for free. Not a push jobby, but a serious Husquvana thing with the deck out front and a 15hp Kohler donk. Farts and bangs,then dies, when you try to get going and he thinks big probs, so has ordered a new one.
Personally, I reckon the carb is gummed up and told him so, but NO, he fancies a new one, so what am I to do? Collection is growing..I expect Mick Annick to be beating my door down But what does he know..?

I have one of those and the choke sticks, which means it farts and bangs and dies, if you dont jiggle it. But that has a briggs engine

Don't know the model? But it has hydrostatic drive and steers by hinging in the middle. Meter wide deck and very well put together.

Mines a C12 or 13 (can never remember) Rider. very good thing, turns on a sixpence. Gets through belts though and Husqvarna belts are dear, and cheapo ones never seem to quite fit.. The deck swings forward and up to clean it, and thats very handy.
