was gifted this as a project from a good mate, he built it years ago with all top notch stuff got fed up as it has no reverse gear left it covered up 10 years and said i need rid of it
its based on a bmw k100 flying brick
goes like stink im told and handles
amazing
its done 5k miles since built and as far as i can see only needs a good going over engine turns in gear

il modify it for hand control with solenoids for gears and a push pull throttle /brake / clutch

At 20 euros for the die grinder, you can’t go too far wrong. Interesting to see how long it lasts, keep it oiled & it may well run forever.

Colleagues have the same one and one has little more than a month let's see how long it lasts.
I'll oil mine at every use .
Colleagues use any sort of oil even cutting oil .
Shop air has a lot of water.
I'll keep it stored in its box so no dust can go inside.
There are other two from the shop which are destroyed ,run slowly and don't keep RPMs
An Ingersoll Rand which has bearings failure as same as a Chicago pneumatic that I used to use but it was already worn out from the others employees and negligence in general.

I believe that mine will last for a long time ,for various reasons , mostly because nobody will touch it so I'll keep care of it

Forgot to say that I bumped in to an old friend at the airgun fayre that knew I like binoculars and telescope type gear, He brought me a couple of Bino's that are fairly old!!, Both work fine but the Barr & Stroud are very dirty inside so whilst in collimation, The view is dark without any crispness to it

Not sure of mag on these Voigtlander but they seem like 6x20 or 8x20..

I'm afraid I have no idea who CT Trevor of Guisborough is either, Most likely the first owner i'd guess..

A massive lunch (just some simple venison steaks, rice and veg) courtesy of @8ob - well tangentially...

He was meant to be coming over for lunch but incompetance (he blamed slopes, tight access and catenary wires) unloading a lorry meant he had to suffice with a motorway lunch instead as he had to about turn and head back to Surrey. There was enough for 5 people here...

I've been eyeing this up for a few months after we cut the rest of it down when it fell on some phone lines and blocked the road. I couldn't get it all in the Surf before so today I acquired it
20 minutes later it was chopped and split into a couple of weeks worth of fire wood
We're stockpiling wood for the log burner at the moment as who knows what'll happen with oil and electricity prices now!

One of the last tool rescues included a small hammer that I seriously thought someone had been so "thrifty" that they would rather have spent a half day of work and several dull and broken drill bits on an old piece of steel than buy a hammer.

The fact alone that I trust certain people close to here to do this speaks for itself ...
... a similar reputation as the Swabians enjoy otherwise probably only Scots, right?

Completely unjustly, I would like to emphasize!

The makeshift hammer, as I called him was at first nothing but a lump of rusty steel with a loose handle .... but because I was just anyway at the rotating wire brush, I treated him without expectation ... and became surprised:

Quite obviously it was very important for someone to make clear that this is his hammer.
Someone who obviously often provided tools / things with his brand, as elaborately as this brandmark was designed.

More became visible:

Probably not an improvised hammer after all, the 300 roughly corresponds to the head weight in grams.
The stroke numbers of the 300 are in an older-looking fond.
The wedge for the handle is still made of wood.

Even a manufacturer logo has this small, strange hammer.
Unfortunately the rear part of the logo is too weathered, I can't think of a manufacturer for this .....

If you take the well-known logo of Pferd-files, then on the hammer it is certainly not a horse, even no awkwardly designed one.

A fox comes to mind ...

Any idea about the origin, the manufacturer?

Any idea about the purpose, the trade of such a hammer shape?

A Grinnall Scorpion - very nice.

I remember years ago seeing a Grinnall Scorpion at a Castle Combe circuit kit car show going round rather rapidly, a few days later there was a photo in one of the daily papers of it bouncing along the track upside down

I wouldn't worry over much - name a car, any car, that's been used on a track day, and I bet you could find a photo of one somewhere, upside down, or rammed into the tyre barriers . .
